On October 28th, 2018, we held our 5th annual Trunk or Treat at Trinity! Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute to the event in one way or another… donating refreshments, assisting with the planning of the event, helping with set-up and clean-up, and last, but not least, setting up a trunk! The themes of the trunks keep getting better and better… had some really great ones this year! I would also like to send a special thank you to Andrea Keller and Christina Crews and her family for all of the time and effort they put into this event.
As in past years, in addition to Trunk or Treating, we offered games, crafts, a movie, and refreshments… all free of charge!! We also brought back the magician, Barry Weaver, for the second year in a row… the kids (and adults!) all seem to enjoy his close up magic and balloon animals! Although a little disappointed in the weather, as I think we could have had a better turnout if the weather was not as cold and wet, we had several families come out and I saw lots of new faces!
We also participated in the Springtown Halloween Parade in the afternoon of October 28th, 2018, prior to the event. There were 18 of us who walked in the parade (10 children and 8 adults). We all wore solid color t-shirts and an ‘M’ to look like M&Ms and carried a sign that said ‘Trinity Lutheran PV - We are all different, but God LOVES us all’! And guess what… We won first place for best organized group (special thanks for Andrea Keller for her help with the signs and Suzanne Hershey for making the ‘M’s).
Thanks again to all who contributed (we couldn’t pull off this event without you!) and to all of those in community who came to participate (we hope to see you all again soon)!
